Support provided by ECTARC
Training Officers are available at all times during office hours, via telephone and email, to answer questions and offer support. ‘Cybertots’, a virtual childcare centre, which is a valuable learning resource for students is available through this website.
The ECTARC On-Line Forum is available to all students through the ECTARC website. Students can participate and/or browse through the range of early childhood and study discussions taking place. This ECTARC Student Forum is only available to ECTARC students.
Practical experience
In the Children's Services and Out of School Hours Care programs most units of competency have an on-the-job component. This means that students must have access to a licensed child care service on a regular basis. The on-the-job experience gives students the practical ‘hands on’ skills required to achieve competency. Practicum can be completed at different times throughout a program or in a block (This allows students that do not work in child care to do their practicum during annual leave time).
