Funding available for the Certificate III in Children's Services - in all regions of NSW
Funding available for the Diploma of Children's Services (Early childhood education and care) - in all regions of NSW
The NSW Government's State Training Services have funding available to assist staff in early childhood services achieve a Certificate III or Diploma qualification to meet the National Quality Framework standards by January 2014. We strongly encourage any staff member that is working in an early childhood service who needs to gain either of these qualifications to call ECTARC to discuss the funding available, as well as the training and assessment methods that would best suit their needs.
There are a number of ways to achieve the Certificate III or Diploma qualifications - this is what an ECTARC Training & Development Officer needs to discuss with you to make sure you undertake the best training and assessment option for you. Once your training and assessment method is determined, ECTARC will be able to tell you what funding you will receive and any applicable fees that are required to be paid.
Below are some of the training and assessment options that are being funded:
1) RPL - Recognition of Prior Learning assessment - if you have been working in a service for approximately 5 years - the RPL process will assess the knowledge and skills you possess - if you meet the criteria and are deemed competent a qualification will be issued. Go to RPL information page.
2) Distance Study - Certificate III and Diploma - students complete units and send assessment tasks to ECTARC. This option is for any one who is currently working in an early childhood service.
3) Distance Study - Existing Worker Traineeships - Diploma - students complete units and send assessment tasks to ECTARC. This option is for any one that worked in an early childhood service for more than 3 months full time.
4) Distance Study - New Entrant Traineeships - Certificate III and Diploma - students complete units and send assessment tasks to ECTARC. This option is for any one that worked less than 3 months full time in an early childhood service.
Please call Cassie or Sarah at ECTARC on 02 4223 1111 or email sarah@ectarc.com.au - making the call may save you quite a bit of money on your training costs.
