CHILD PROTECTION OVERVIEW


Completing Child Protection Overview (with optional bridging) will contribute 2 hours of Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 and 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.  A Statement of Participation will be issued on completion of the webinar.

If you wish to achieve a Statement of Attainment a written assessment is required to be completed. Please note, it may take up to an additional 10 hours to assessment component of the course.  The assessment will require a:

  • Completed written assignment including attached components such as copy of service policy
  • Third Party Report signed by a workplace supervisor

When a written assessment is marked competent a Statement of Attainment for CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk will be issued (evidence of attainment of a previous child protection qualification must also be submitted with the completed bridging assessment).

Completing CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk will contribute 6 hours of Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 and 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.  A Statement of Participation will be issued on completion of the webinar.

If you wish to achieve a Statement of Attainment a written assessment and practical component is required to be completed.

Please note, it may take up to an additional 20 hours to complete the assessment component of the course.  The assessment will require a:

  • Completed written assignment including attached components such as copy of service policy
  • Third Party Report signed by a workplace supervisor
  • A simulated assessment task: Making a report – phone call with an ECTARC Training and Development Officer
  • Video: One (1) video is required to be submitted demonstrating a role play with colleague, family or friend where you respond to a disclosure

When the written assessment is marked competent a Statement of Attainment for 
CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk will be issued.


Please note, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be an option you wish to consider. Call 02 4223 1111 to speak to an ECTARC representative if you have been working in the sector for a number of years to discuss RPL.



Registered NSW Teachers must provide their Teacher Accreditation number.
