Employers Guide to NSW Traineeships

Employer Contribution

From 1 January 2004, under the new legislation, a RTO can request an industry contribution from the employer. ECTARC charges employers $35.00 per trainee for the industry contribution and this is to be paid at the commencement of the traineeship. We invite you to compare this fee with other training organisations that deliver the Certificate III in Children's Services - Traineeship and Certificate IV in Out of School Hours Care - Traineeship programs. ECTARC's employer contribution fee is a very competitive rate.

Training Fee - paid by the trainee

The NSW government has advised that from 1 January 2007 trainees are required to pay an annual upfront fee of $394 for each year of their traineeship course and have instructed Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to collect the fee. Part time trainees will be required to pay the training fee for each year of training. Some trainees will be exempt, including existing worker trainees, school based trainees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and those receiving an identified benefit. Contact ECTARC or your Australian Apprenticeship Centre for further details.
